Can I tan while I am pregnant?
Is it safe to tan while pregnant? How about spray tanning? This is a popular question! Also, something our Tanning Artists are asked about frequently.
If you are expecting, it is generally understood that sunbathing or using UV tanning beds is dangerous! Why, you ask? The simple answer is it could overheat your baby. This can cause a miscarriage. Yikes!! So, as we approach spring and summer, please wear sunscreen, use a floppy hat and just say no to overexposure to the Sun.
Okay, as for spray tanning while pregnant, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Remember, ALWAYS check with your Dr before trying something new during pregnancy. Most DR’s will tell you spray tanning is safe after your first trimester.
How to Stay Safe:
Previously, we’ve discussed how toxic chemicals can be present in spray tanning booths already (read more on this).
All spray tanning solutions are not created equal. We suggest you ask a few more questions to determine what you are comfortable with.
